Lemosho is the most rewarding route in terms of scenery, starting from the west side of the mountain at a place called Londorosi where the gate is situated. This route offers the chances to view wildlife such as buffalo, zebra, gazelles, monkeys and occasionally elephants. The climb starts in a forest reserve in a vehicle before beginning the walk in the natural rain forest.
It is only this route that gives a climber the chance to walk through two of the three important peaks that makes Kilimanjaro, Shira plateau, and Kibo 5895m and also be able to see Mawenzi 5146m, from distance. The longer trail to the summit allows more time to acclimatize and makes it easier and more comfortable climb.
It is the least trafficked route which gives enough time and space to explore the scenery at its best. The daily distances walked are relatively short, which translates into reserves of energy for the summit day and altogether increases the chances of making it to the summit.
The scenery on this trail on the ascending route is different from the descending route which makes every day new and unique from the beginning to the end of your trip.
