Product Description

Serengeti is a world renown wildlife sanctuary due to its ecological significance located in the northern part of Tanzania, covering up to 880kilometers/500miles. It is infamous for its migration, which consists of 1.7 million wildebeest, 260,000 zebra, 470,000 gazelles and hundreds of thousands of buffalos along with their predators such as lions, hyenas, leopards and more. The park as a whole covers an incredible 14,750 square kilometers/5,700sq mile.

The Serengeti was designated as a World Natural Heritage site in 1981 due to its magnificent ecosystem. The name itself suggests its wideness which also reflects the coverage and capacity to carry wildlife. The name came from a Maasai word, Siringet, which literary means “Endless plain”. Among other things, the park is famous for its spectacular wildebeest migration, best viewed in late January to August and incredible wildlife viewing throughout the year.

The best game viewing can be done in minimum of three days including arrival and departure. Many choose to visit the Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater, which is along the way to Serengeti, on the same trip.

When flying into Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO), a good option to enjoy the safari is to drive to the Serengeti and explore sites along the way, such as Oldupai Gorge and the shifting sands, and overnight at a lodge or campsite ready for a full day game drive in the Serengeti the following day.

The third day would be for both the Ngorongoro crater and a return to Arusha. There are other options for touring the Serengeti if visitors want to fly from the Serengeti airstrip or Mwanza to Dar Es salaam, or go further west to Uganda or/and Rwanda for Gorilla trekking.

Since the trip to Africa for many people is a trip of a lifetime, it is an excellent idea to take a little longer to cover as many attractions as possible. A great advantage that most of the sites and parks are situated close to each other in the northern safari circuit encompassing Arusha National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Tarangire National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti. For those with a little more time and budget, adding Zanzibar for a cultural experience like no other, a spice tour as well as a beach holiday could be a nice way to wrap up a sensational trip.

There are several itineraries to choose from depending on the time and budget one has. Dadisi Adventures provides you with the best options according to your time, wishes and wallet. We are thrilled to provide you with an authentic lifetime experience.
